The Type C had Surface Skin Technology (SST) and a pinpoint precision gear that works great on the skin, soleus, and achilles. The SST on the Type C is our medium density version. 

• Shorter bar style roller with 3 medium density gears and 1 precision gear, all with SST. 
• Red precision gear gets into hard to reach areas, like the achilles tendon or IT band. 

My favourite product, hands down, is the Type C roller. I think it's one of the most versatile and "easy-to-travel" tools that targets ALL leg specific areas. As a runner, this is definitely key.
